I am not one to be ashamed of still playing along with those silly imaginary games. As long as I can make kids happy by playing them I will. For me, babysitting has never been a “job.” I have a job at Hannaford to earn money. I willingly watch kids at no cost because it is what I love to do. Being a caretaker of other people’s children has taught me a bulk of useful skills. While parents are at work, I have to take on an enormous amount of responsibility. She thanked me, saying, “You did everything perfectly, and if you waited a second longer the outcome would have been worse.” It made me leave feeling so proud knowing I did the right thing, that I encountered every babysitter’s worst nightmare and met the challenge with poise. Babysitting has always been a source of joy for me, I have always loved caring for others. As a result of this experience, I am now confident in my ability to deal with any similar situation I come across. I learned that there is no reason to panic or worry during a crisis. This has taught me patience, trust, and comfort with others. What began as a simple source of enjoyment had helped me choose a career path. Helping and caring for others is a source of true joy for me, and that is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I intend to pursue a degree in nursing. I am dedicated and often put others before myself. I have learned that I have the ability to act calmly under pressure. I have shown time and time again that I have a caring nature. All of these qualities are essential in the nursing field. I look forward to pursuing a career that will allow me to work in my happy place every day for the rest of my
