The United States is very open to illegal and legal immigrants. I feel that the openness is very good for the United States because the U.S. would not exist without immigrants. I think that for the Unites States to start closing in on the acceptance availability to immigrants would be unmoral. The Unites States is filled with all different races from all around the world. We are the "melting pot" of the world. Immigration is how the United States started, and for the U.S. to start closing their doors on immigration would be wrong.
In the United States there is a process by which aliens can become naturalized U.S. citizens. There are also requirements as well. The requirements are as follows:
• a period of continuous residence and physical presence in the United States;
• residence in a particular USCIS District prior to filing;
• an ability to read, write, and speak English;
• a knowledge and understanding of U.S. history and government;
• good moral character;
• attachment to the principles of the U.S. Constitution; and,
• favorable disposition toward the United States.
Fulfilling these requirements is just a portion of the process to become a naturalized United States citizen. Even though all naturalization applicants must demonstrate good moral character, attachment, and favorable disposition, the other requirements may be modified or waived for certain applicants, such as spouses of U.S. citizens. After figuring out if you fulfill the requirements, you must then apply to become a citizen. When you complete your application you are then photographed and fingerprinted. To make sure you are suitable for U.S. Citizenship you will also go through an interview and if you pass everything you then take an oath to become a naturalized United States citizen.
I think the process to become a naturalized United States citizen is fine just the way it is. I agree with all the requirements...
