Do you know how many illegal immigrants come to the United States every year? “The immigration and Naturalization Service estimates that in January of 2000 there were 7 million illegal aliens living in United States, a number that is growing by half a million a year” ( ). This is a frequent problem and what is America going to do to fix this?
Illegal Immigration is the migration across the national borders in a way that violates Immigration laws of the destined country. When passing through other countries you use a visa or green card. A greater number of visas will go to the regions that have lower immigration rates and no visas maybe issued to countries that have sent more than 5000 immigrants to the U.S. during the previous 5 years. There are many types of visas and it all depends on what you come over for. For example, if you were coming to visit friends, or attend business for less than 6 months you need a B visa. You must have a green card for 3-5 years before applying for citizenship( ).
In other countries immigrants are referred to as other names. In Europe their considered clandestine workers, Asia their considered a boat person, and in the U.S. they can be migrant workers or an alien. In most countries the cause of immigration is due to immigrants fleeing from their countries . “In 2003, 78000 illegal aliens are from the countries of special concern with the war or terror” ( ). The population of these immigrants tend to be Hispanic or Mexican. These governments don’t seem to show any sympathy for the ones affected by the war. El Salvador is the largest per-capita source of immigration. The Pew Hispanic Center state said that 57% of illegal aliens are of Mexican origin and about 75% are of Latin American origin ( ). Terrorism is beginning to come into effect as more and more people come over here. The attack of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 is just one example(...
