INTRODUCTION

Integration is an essential element for providing maximum value to the end customers, when shipping a product overseas as part of a commercial transaction, the exporters must be aware of some requirements. Logistics is the management of the flow of resources between the point of origin and the point of consumption in other to meet some requirement for example, of the customers or corporations. This chapter attempts to explain or identify some challenges in logistics management on international trade which is the exchange of goods and services across international borders.

1.1- BACKGROUND INFORMATION
DHL was founded in 1989 in San Francisco (U.S). It grew to become the world leader in international air express courier. In 1998, Deutsche post world net (DPWN) acquired 25% share in DHL and later made total acquisition of DHL worldwide bland was adopted by DPWN bringing under one umbrella Deutsche Post, Danzans, DHL and Postbank with four strong corporate divisions MAIL, EXPRESS, LOGISTICS & FINANCE. Presently, DHL’s international network links more than 220 countries and territories worldwide. Around 285.000 employees are dedicated to providing fast and reliable services that exceed customers’ expectations in 120,000 destinations in all continents. From modest beginnings in 1984, DHL Ghana Ltd is today the market leader in Ghana with 140 employees and one of the 56 countries that link DHL’s network on the African continent. It
