Huffman Trucking
Huffman Trucking is a national transportation company. The trucking company has made its way to over 1,400 employees. As of now, the company is looking to make improvements that will increase efficiency and capabilities. This will be done by upgrading the current communication systems. The company has four locations, New Jersey, California, Missouri, and Ohio. All four locations have a plant and an office.
Current Systems
The New Jersey location both plant and office use a regular POTS PBX. They also do not have caller ID or voicemail currently installed. The office of New Jersey currently uses a 28.8 Modem with AOL. Also in the office there are no routers, switches, or hubs. As for an operating system in the office, they are using Windows 3.x and 9x Environment. The New Jersey plant has one local printer and one network printer. The plant, like the offices uses Windows 3.x.
The California plants and office are very similar to the ones in New Jersey. Like the Jersey location, both the plant and office in California use a regular POTS PBX and they also do not have caller ID or voicemail currently installed. The California location also runs off a 28.8 Modem and has AOL. Both California and New Jersey offices and plants are the most outdated out of the four locations.
The Missouri location is one of the more updated out of the locations. The office has many of the same factors as the plant does. They both have a digital phone system, an Avaya Digital Phone System. Both the plant and office connect to a Token Ring Network. One difference between the plant and office in Missouri is the plant uses cat 3 wiring to the hub and the office uses cat 5 wiring.
The fourth location is in Ohio. This location is very similar to the location in Missouri. The phone systems and networking components seem to be the same as Missouri....
