Human resource management has undergone many changes from the once name “Personal” to being the soul source of an organizations front line. The boundaries within the Human resource world are limitless. Human resource responsibilities range from managing the needs of employees within an organization and gathering talented individuals to build a company towards their goal of success. In this paper I will be discussing Human resources roles and their responsibilities that require them to recognize and account for many factors such as globalization, technology, diversity and ethics.
Like most companies there is a front line department or organization that helps build the foundation of that company. This is where HR comes into play with its many responsibilities and one of there key roles is globalization. Any business knows in order to grow and strive it will need to become globalize in its industry. Technology has become a high priority in this development and the responsibly with the HR role is managing in this area. HR is equip in handling this area not only across geographic boarders, but national, cultural, ethic, religious, functional, organizational, time, distance, legal, financial, historic, economic and political ones as well (Glade, Myxter and Digh, 2005). Globalization is only one of the many tasks that human resource management needs to be skilled in. It seems that in this day and age many of the job functions within corporate America are becoming scarce due to cutting cost within an organization and the aspects of outsourcing. Globalization seems only necessary in order for any company to compete and stay in line with other businesses and larger corporations.
