Adolf Hitler will always be known as one of the best public speakers that ever lived, but he will also be known as the man who brought terror over the world. Hitler was born in Austria on April 20, 1889, but started his military career in Munich in May 1913. He proved to be a courageous soldier during world war one, but he never rose above the rank of Lance Corporal. He quickly took control with his powerful words, and became head of the National Socialist German Workers Party in July 1921. Hitler was a very talented man and could have done a lot of good, but due to a dramatic childhood experiences he brought terror over the world. Hitler was greatly affected in a negative way by his childhood. If his upbringing hadn’t been so traumatic, he may never have developed such a hatred for Jews. Hitler was born in April 1889; He was a resentful, discontented child. He was moody, lazy and had an unstable temper from a young age. He was very hostile towards his strict, controlling father, but strongly attached to his indulgent, hard-working mother. His mother died in December of 1908 due to cancer. He was only 19 years old at the time. Hitler left school at 16; he dreamed of being a painter, but was rejected by the Viennese Academy of Fine Arts even though he was a very talented artist. This infuriated him and caused him to be miserable for five years. During this time his view on life changed and caused him to have a pathological hatred of Jews, Marxists, liberalism and the cosmopolitan Habsburg monarchy. Hitler first studied politics in Vienna where he took classes about the demagogic techniques of the popular Christian-social Mayor and Karl Lueger. Theorists like the defrocked monk, Lanz von Liebenfels, and the Austrian Pan-German leader, Georg von Schoenerer, made Hitler believe the “Eternal Jew” was the symbol and cause of all chaos, corruption and destruction in culture, politics and the economy.
