Hispanic Groups In America

Within the United States, there are four Hispanic groups that are very easy to pick out as being the most wide known. The first Hispanic groups is the Mexican Americans then Puerto Ricans, third choice is Central and South Americans and my final pick is Cuban Americans Every one of these groups each brings its own cultural rituals and social priorities all that are special to each group. Although, each of these groups all have some similar traits that it share in common with one another. In my paper, the linguistic, political, social, economic, religious, and familial familiarities of all the groups I will be exploring contrasting and comparing.
The languages spoken most by the Mexican Americans are English and Spanish (Mexican American, 2008). Mostly, this particular group likes the Democratic values politically (Hispanic and Latino American politics, 2008). Around 49% of Mexican Americans over the age of 25 have their high school diploma and only six percent will achieve a four-year college (Puerto Ricans in the United States, 2008). Although, 21% of Mexican American families are at poverty living level, and the estimated yearly income for individuals in this group is at $27,877 (Hispanic and Latino Americans, 2008). There is much of a mixture of religious preference within this particular group. There are a couple of more popular religious choices such as Christianity (predominately Roman Catholic or Protestant), Islam, Judaism and Atheism (Mexican American, 2008). Usually, Mexican families tend to be biggest ethnic race among the Hispanic American groups. About 35% of all the Mexican American households have living in them five or more people at one time (lasculturas.com, 2004). There have been lately many political arguments dealing with Mexican Americans.
