Spaniards, Salvadoran, Guatemalan,
Nicaraguan, Honduran, Panamanian,
Costa Rican, Columbian, Chilean,
Argentinean, Peruvian, and Ecuadorian

With identifying the linguistic, political, social, economic, religious, and familial conventions and/or statuses of four Hispanic groups living in the United States; the following four groups have been chosen, Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Columbians and also Cubans. Each of these four groups has a very rich and diverse culture but they have all been categorized by the same term, Hispanics. Even though these four groups share the same language, which would be Spanish, each culture has a different way of Spanish with different pronunciations and different meanings. So even though these different cultures groups may seem to be the same in ways, they are all also different in many ways which make them all unique. The term “Mexican Americans” refers to Americans that have Mexican ancestry. There are more than 29 million people that the united states census identifies as "Hispanics," 65 percent (18 million) are of Mexican origin (Figueroa-Aramoni, 2005). Linguistics for Mexican Americans has been an ongoing topic in America which also brings the topic of bilingual education. Bilingual education is an ongoing feud in different states which many schools and states have shown the proof and positive aspects of this topic. Many Mexican Americans have parents that are very much on the Spanish speaking side so growing up theses children learn this language before they do English, and having bilingual education has been a very positive program that has helped many children. Many Mexican Americans living especially near the Mexican border have come accustomed to the Spanglish language which is a blend of both the Spanish and English language.
