Background
The movie is based on a psychological disorder called, “Dissociative identity disorder”. A family goes out in a playground having some fun playing. Then one night, the father named David saw her wife died in a bathtub and seconds later the daughter named Emily goes in the bathroom to check and saw her mother with traumatized gesture. Emily was sent to a child hospital and was checked by a psychiatrist named Katherine. Soon after, David noticed that Emily has become friends with an imaginary friend named “Charlie” wherein they had a desire to make their father upset. David always has nightmares every night at 2:06 wherein in his dream it always shows the New Year’s celebration party before the night his wife died. …show more content…
He then knew that he has a split personality or a Dissociative identity disorder, he then knew that Charlie wasn’t real, it was him all along. As his neighbor called the sheriff, the sheriff then knocked at their door and got in when no one opened. He then was surprised by David as David knocks his head by a shovel, he was dragged unconscious in the basement. When Katherine visited, she then noticed that David was acting kind of weird, and then she was pushed by David in the basement too and locked it. Katherine saw the sheriff and knew that David has the problem not Emily. She then grabs the sheriff’s handgun and kicked the door and looked for Emily with precaution to David as they played Hide and Seek with Emily wherein when David finds Emily he will kill her with his knife. They then got into a cave near their house where Emily first met Charlie who comes out to be David. She then found David rather than Emily, David knocks her off as he got near her then as David squeezes Katherine’s throat Emily then screams and caught David’s attention. David then go near Emily slowly and then blinking his flashlight every 5 seconds. As the final flash reveals Katherine with a handgun pointed at David, then when David moved …show more content…
It would be best for us nurses to know this for our psychiatric nursing. We would also know how their behavior patterns so that we can know what would be their next move, we can be visionary with more precision.
Weakness
A person with split personality does really break a man’s mind and some without them even knowing it. With such disorder, a person with split personality could develop himself to be a killer.
To those watchers of the movie, if they have experiences of death among their love one’s but does not have a split personality, they could relate to this movie and therefore be carried away then it could trigger a personality disorder within them because it just lies in their subconscious mind.
Opportunities
This will give us the opportunity to have such knowledge about this kind of disorder and it could also lead us to study deeper about psychological disorders due to curiosity among a man’s mind being disturbed. This will only be an opportunity to such persons that have such enthusiast about human behaviors.
