Introduction

Depending on which category an individual falls in there are multiple systems to serve them. The system today is multifaceted because of the growth and the evolution that have been developed in past years. People seem to think that it is unified and aligned but that is far from the truth. There are variations of how we Americans are cared for. To make the system whole there has to be components that bring it all together. I will explain what these components are and why they are necessary. A conclusion will follow with my own thoughts and views about the system.
Components of a Complete Healthcare System
1) Health promotions and disease prevention services—which is done locally through links such as state health departments and nationally through links such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is also linked worldwide through the World Health Organization. The reason this component is necessary is because if people are not aware then they will not know and won't do anything about it. The mortality rate would also increase.
2) Emergency medical services—which are people who respond first to provide direct care to the injured or sick. This has caused a decrease in deaths from injury because of the transportation system and the communication system which helps provide information about the patient and other treatment that may be needed. This component is necessary because like I stated before if people don't know, what can they do? This service provides a speedy and more efficient response to the injured or sick. Being able to have information instantly gives more time to treat accurately.
3) Specialty hospitals—some hospitals have emergency rooms and some specialize in certain areas than another hospital can't such as trauma. This provides more services which is why this component is necessary.
4) Long-term care services—which is care that is given to those who need...
