Happiness
Happiness is a positive feeling one experiences when struck with good luck, an opportunity, or a good event. Many philosophers have attempted to completely define happiness, by research and years of searching for happiness. "Happiness is the ultimate realization that everything was, and is, exactly as it should be," was said by Paul, an independent scholar from the Netherlands (his last name wasn’t revealed). Another definition by Confucius, a famed Chinese philosopher, "We take great pains to persuade others that we are happy than in endeavoring to think so ourselves." Many things can make one happy; but happiness is always reached in the same way. Not is it getting what you most desire, but it is being awarded it after working for it. The feeling of accomplishment is true happiness.
Achieving what you believe is important often brings happiness. Different people believe different things are important. Some people, such as myself, believed grades and school are the most important. Being number one in the class and straight A’s makes one happy. Other who values their religion, and believe happiness comes from fulfilling their religion. However, achievement of abstract goals is not the only thing that can bring happiness. Materialist item can also bring happiness. The key to the happiness in materials is still working for them. If one receives all items they desire without an ounce of work, the first few items will bring happiness, but would so turn to boredom, and depression, for materials do not bring happiness themselves. The pride of earning them brings joy.
A happiness machine would have to bring non-materialist joys and materialist joys. It would create an environment where one didn’t instantly obtain what they wished for, but created the work so the prize would be invaluable. For example, if a Ferrari would make one happy, instead of producing the car, the machine would watch and detect work achieved and effort heavily put forth, and then would...
