Few topics in this nation incite such a heated debate than when the topic of gun control is brought up. If this country is to remain a country based on the rights and freedoms of the people, then we must protect them at all costs. When our forefathers founded this country they intended it to give more rights and freedoms to its people than any other country in the world. These men relished in the thought of more freedoms because they too had come from countries where there were so few freedoms. This country was founded on the ideas of Liberty and Freedom, then, later adopted the right to bear arms, though many would see to take those rights away. Gun controls lobbyists believe that there is due cause to impose more restrictions on guns, while anti-lobbyists would argue that these opposing lobbyists are over hyping the numbers and using scare tactics. The truth is that the increase in gun ownership results in a decrease in crime. Therefore, gun ownership should never be curtailed
Many things to consider when looking at the topic of gun control, such as the general publics’ argument for or against it. Firstly we must look at the other side of the argument and find out what the gun control lobbyist’s main argument is. The gun control lobbyists’ main argument is that more guns equal more deaths. To be able to fully analyze this problem the government must see the entire picture. The only way to do this though is with statistics and analysis. When analyzing statistics we always have to be weary of many things. Finally we must ask ourselves what does all this data mean and how does it help either side?
Guns work extremely fast and so do lobbyists. Gun control lobbyist’s strongest argument is that when the civilian population has more access to guns, more teens and children die from gun wounds.
