Good Will Hunting is a movie with an all-star cast including Matt Damon, Robin Williams, and Ben Affleck just to name a few. Matt Demon plays the main character Will Hunting while Robin Williams and Ben Affleck play supporting roles as a psychology professor and best friend. The movie introduces Will as a janitor at MIT that is much smarter than he lets on. In fact, Will Hunting is a mathematical genius. Stellan Skarsgard plays a professor at MIT named Gerald Lambeau. Professor Lambeau decided to put an unsolved equation outside his classroom for his students to try and figure out but it was Will who solved it in just a few short minutes. Will is deadest on spending the rest of his life in South Boston along with Chuckie, but Chuckie changes that thought. He points out how lucky Will is and how he needs to take advantage of the opportunity he’s been given. He states how upset he would be if Will actually does choose to spend the rest of his life in Boston. Chuckie tells Will how he owes it not to himself but to his friends to get out of Boston and make something for himself. Will comes to the conclusion the Chuckie is right about leaving Boston and he does just that. There are numerous lessons to learn from such an incredible film like Good Will Hunting. He is hands down one of the smartest people in Massachusetts at the time and never attended a single college lecture. A degree means nothing if you do not have the smarts to back it up. Will shows viewers that a degree is simply a piece of paper. He proves that anyone can do anything if they truly want to. Good Will Hunting is a dramatic love story with a cliff hanger for an ending. It shows the unconditional love between friends, the fuming fights that come along in a romantic relationship, and much more. Nobody knows what happens after Will’s trek across the country. Does Skylar take him back? Does she tell him he missed his chance? Does he find a job with the honor he is looking for? None of these questions have answers. I’d like to think that he and Skylar live happily ever after, but who knows. There is a reason that this film is highly ranked among its genre. The performances from the actors area jaw dropping. The relationship between Matt Damon and Robin Williams in the movie perfectly portrays the way someone should influence your life. You can fight together and cry together but at the end of the day you are there for one another. Just like with any film including Robin Williams in the cast, you can assume it will be worthy of multiple Academy Awards. If you’re looking for an intense drama with the love story to shed a tear then it is highly recommended that you watch Good Will

However, Ang Lee's film Brokeback Mountain (2005) (BKM, exp. 1) is a controversial film that stuck different emotions among viewers such as, “'Gay cowboy movie' shatters stereotypes” (Clinton, sec. 2) with two handsome young cowboys Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) who fall in love, which is not viewer’s typical western genre expectation. While Ang Lee's, Brokeback Mountain, will remain an important piece of cinema now and one hundred years in the future because, the genre of the film makes it memorable to audiences, stimulating cinematography and sound, the incredible use of mise-en-scene, and the film not conforming to America's ideology.…

Even though Will enjoyed his life of literature and education behind closed doors, it was indeterminable whether Will was content with his life or eager to leave his comfort zone in Southie to challenge his intellect at the beginning of the film. For example, while working as a janitor at MIT Will solves a problem that the current students at the institute had yet to conquer, however Will would not admit to the professors that he had solved it. This shows that Will lacks aspects of self-realization because once the professors realize he is the genius, Will mocks the therapy sessions and mathematical lessons that the professors organized in order to help him reach his full potential. In addition to that, Will’s best friends…

The concept of identity perception plays a substantial role in the film Good Will Hunting . The private self also referred to as the perceived self is a reflection of the self-concept, the person we believe ourselves to be in times of honest self-examination (Adler,72). Will's private self is just that, private. He had a painful childhood and as a result he buries his past deep in the back of his mind, to the point where he doesn't even acknowledge it. As a child Will was an abandoned orphan who had been physically abused by his foster parents. One can assume this does not set a good precedent for high self-worth. He was deserted by the people who were supposed to love him the most and as a result this Wills reflected-appraisal affects every aspect of his life and set the tone for his relationships. Reflected appraisal is a process in which each of us develops a self-concept…
