Freedom To Live
Freedom is a term that is much overused and cliché, but to be able to understand what it truly means fully describes what it means to be an American. Our country was built around the idea of freedom for all who live here. Freedom has given birth to exceptional technological advances, brilliant ideas, and limitless choices in life. People can fight for what they believe in, and they have the power to be able to change the government to make life more livable for every citizen in this nation. Without freedom our country would be nowhere near what is has become today.
Our society is based around the idea of freedom because it was founded by freedom fighters. In order for our country to even exist the way it is today, many brave men had to stand up and say they weren’t going to be ruled by a foreign, out of touch leader anymore. That’s why in 1775 the Revolutionary War broke out, started by ideas of freedom from rule of a British king. Soon after, the United States was born, as well as the Constitution. The Constitution outlined specific freedoms that U.S. citizen would have, as well as limiting the governments’ power in order to uphold that freedom from tyranny. These ideas are still upheld today. With the exception of the Bill of Rights, not very many changes have been made to the basic ideas of the Constitution which has caused the United States to flourish in so many ways.
Freedom has allowed so many great things to happen to this country. Many great ideas have gone on to change not only this country, but the entire world. For example, the invention of assembly line production, by Henry Ford, has greatly increased the rate of production for just about every single factory in the world. There is also the camera, motion pictures, air conditioning, and of course, where would we be without computers.
