With such issues involving strictly politics such as terrorism and the war in Iraq receiving so much attention from the media it seems that the growingly important issue of global warming is being overlooked by the majority of the American people. This problem generated by the media is stated most accurately by Ross Gelbspan; "The culture of journalism is, basically, a political culture that is not particularly hospitable…toward nonpolitical areas of coverage. If the press were disposed to look beyond just the politics of Kyoto, it would be an eye-opener for the American public.1" To solve this impending problem the American public must become more aware of the obvious problem at hand; many people still are unaware of the evident dangers in front of them, this lack of knowledge is also due to the different ideologies that people posses. Through various media publications it becomes obvious that many people differ on their opinions of the problem of climate change. Some believe that the only way to solve this problem is through taking drastic measures that could potentially hurt the world's population as much as climate change, while others have yet to accept the fact that global warming is real.
