Facebook A New World
Within this essay, I am going to draw up comparisons between three organisations within of the service working industry. The three organisations that I have chosen are the Radisson SAS Hotel Liverpool, Easy Jet airlines and FACT.
I will review the changing nature of the work and its implications for each of the organisations. I will compare and review organisational structures and management styles also illustrating the importance of developing people and including an evaluation of current working practices focusing on ethical, sustainable and quality issues.
First, I am going to look at the Radisson SAS hotel. It is a franchise hotel. The first hotel opened in 1960 and by 2002; there were 135 hotels in 38 countries. The president and CEO of Rezidor is Mr. Kurt Ritter he is a Swiss national and joined SAS hotels in 1976 by 1989 he became president. The business is now operating and developing more than 200 properties, across five brands, in 40 countries, with over 13,000 members of staff. The commitment of the company is to operate no less than 700 hotels by 2012, meaning more development and progression opportunities than ever.
The Radisson hotel offers good human relations. They acknowledge that each member of staff is a unique and valuable part of the organisation. The key words of the human resources policy are; Trust – all relations are to be based on honesty, loyalty, consideration and respect. Change – work methods are to be characterized by understanding, acceptance and positive attitude towards change. Opportunities – all employees shall be given the opportunity to affect, develop and improve their skills to achieve their own as well as the group’s goals. Finally, responsibility – all employees have a shared responsibility for their own and the group’s development.
Awards and recognition are a good benefit of the organisation some include employee of the month, employee of the year. The hotel also offer’s annual staff party which is a fancy dress....
