Examples Of Conservatism
America’s most recent election was won by candidate, Donald J. Trump, who offered a gracious acceptance speech as President Elect extending an invitation for the nation to join together in the spirit of unity and unconditional love by means of “Compassionate Conservatism,” which was coined by George W. Bush in 2002.1 The recent election was a turning point in American history. Our nation was slowly being changed from a Constitutional society to a totalitarian socialist regime. At the forefront of this election were “we the people” unalienable rights of free speech, religious liberty, protection from dangerous enemies (namely radical Islamists), immigration, and the right to bear arms.

While I do believe that we can be kind to people we don’t agree with, how can we be tolerant (which also means to go along with) of those who blatantly oppose the Word of God? For too long now many Americans have become fearful of the Godless policies implemented by the Obama administration; ergo, many have given the appearance of being tolerant out of fear of the consequences that can be imposed? It is true, we cannot draw others to the faith by cruelty; however, Christians and real Jews are expected by the One Living and True God to maintain the faith, our core values which are the foundation America was built on. Christians and real Jews are to respect authority as long as civil law is not in contradiction to God’s law (Romans …show more content…
It's time for us to come together as one united people, to help unify our great country. Ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement … ix our inner cities, address infrastructure issues and "finally" support veterans. We expect to have great, great relationships with the rest of the world. We must reclaim our nation's destiny, he said, noting that when it comes to relations with other nations, we will seek common ground, not hostility. After some number of years, "hopefully you'll be so proud of your president – you'll be so proud. I. Love. This. Country.15

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens (NIV, Ecclesiastes 3:1). Now Conservatives can lovingly teach the nation respect for the privileges Americans often take for granted. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:

Donald Trump’s call to “Make America Great Again” has polarized the nation, and is a very current and relevant example of corruption and violence infecting a modern revolution. Although unlike his liberal counterpart Bernie Sanders he hasn’t actually called for a “political revolution,” Donald Trump’s radical policies would be just as much of a departure from traditional American politics. He calls for the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants, a wall on the Mexican border, a ban on Muslims, and for companies based elsewhere to bring their jobs back to the United States. Ever since Trump gained the national spotlight he has been criticized for his Trump University scam and inciting violence among his supporters. When Trump University…

A prevalent question that comes up while studying America’s past is “was the American Revolution a true revolution?”. Depending on the whether the historian sides with the theory of a strict or loose constructionist, the answer will vary. Strict constructionists tend to believe that a revolution produces a significant end result whereas loose constructionists refer to any type of violence in conjunction with a constitution, rulers, or policies. This differentiation leads to the topics of conservatism and radicalism. In correlation with the American revolution, conservatists claim that the outcome of the revolution was nothing great. On the other hand, radicalists feel that the changes after the revolution were extraordinary. Pulitzer Prize-winning Carl N. Delger agrees with the conservatists…

Classical liberalism (Laissez-faire) can impact a society by giving citizens individual freedom; such as, freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and press. It also advocates the economy by obtaining economic freedom for private owners. The benefits from classical liberalism is that the producer is able to control the amount of products to establish and distribute. While public owners kept having products stocking in, if it cannot be sold efficiently it would cause bankruptcy. Another disadvantage for companies would be if the profit was lower, the workers would be paid lower, thus allowing products to cost less for…

American individualism is far more complex than our national myths, or the soap-box rhetoric of right and left, would have it. It is not individualism in the libertarian sense, the idea that the individual comes before any group and that personal freedom comes before any allegiance to authority. Research suggests that Americans do adhere to a particular strain of liberty — one that emerged in the New World — in which freedom to choose your allegiance is tempered by the expectation that you won’t stray from the values of the group you choose. In a political climate where “liberty” is frequently wielded as a rhetorical weapon but rarely discussed in a more serious way, grasping the limits of our notion of liberty might guide us to building America’s future on a different philosophical foundation.…

In the great journal of things happening under the sun, we, the American People, find our account running, under date of the nineteenth century of the Christian era.--We find ourselves in the peaceful possession, of the fairest portion of the earth, as regards extent of territory, fertility of soil, and salubrity of climate. We find ourselves under the government of a system of political institutions, conducing more essentially to the ends of civil and religious liberty, than any of which the history of former times tells us. We, when mounting the stage of existence, found ourselves the legal inheritors of these fundamental blessings. We toiled not in the acquirement or establishment of them--they are a legacy bequeathed us, by a once hardy, brave, and patriotic, but now lamented and departed race of ancestors. Their's was the task (and nobly they performed it) to possess themselves, and through themselves, us, of this goodly land; and to uprear upon its hills and its valleys, a political edifice of liberty and equal rights; 'tis ours only, to transmit these, the former, unprofaned by the foot of an invader; the latter, undecayed by the lapse of time and untorn by usurpation, to the latest generation that fate shall permit the world to know. This task gratitude to our fathers, justice to ourselves, duty to posterity, and love for our species in general, all imperatively require us faithfully to perform.…

The religious right has been a part of American politics as far back as the 1940’s but its presence in the late 1960’s and 1970’s was very influential in many ways. The religious right movement focuses on social issues like abortion, school prayer, religion, stem cell research, homosexuality, contraception and pornography. The Religious right was able to navigate its relationship with the conservative movement through American history between multiple presidential administrations due to many reasons.…

Modern thought tells the story of liberty, rights, and equality for all, but this is just a result of hundreds of years’ worth of evolution of thought, the purveyors of these political ideologies implanted these ideas into the basic fabric of the American thought process. It has become so ingrained that Americans are lazy with these ideas, and anytime separate states where this is not the case are mentioned, Americans have a difficult time wrapping their minds around them. These concepts of Liberty and Equality are simultaneously simple and complex, and can be paradoxically argued back and forth, but the real importance in them is derived ultimately from those they blanket with their definitions.…

    Freedom Of Religion Essay

Freedom of religion, as guaranteed by our First Amendment right, is not just a subject of toleration, but it is known to be the practice of our inherent natural rights. Our society does not only function based on laws and the enforcement of laws, but it operates on the creeds of religion which prescribes societies norms and behaviors. While individuals have the freedom to live according to the dictates of one’s own conscience, all individuals and groups have the obligation to protect that freedom for both themselves and all other people. Some may argue that a world deprived of the gift of faith would be left broken, as people would lack a set of morals to guide them in a society that is both empty and without reason. Others may argue that faith…
