Eva Peron
Evita was similar to the A&E biography about Eva Peron in the way that they both were able to capture the common people of Argentina hearts and minds. They both were loved and adored by the people. And they were both very energetic and both were deeply involved their work. The differences were that in the musical, Eva was portrayed more a sympathetic and loving person who cared for the people’s well being. But in reality she was a deceiver that tricked the masses into loving her so they would elect her husband, Juan Peron for president. The movie also depicted her as a woman with beauty but no brains. But the biography tells that even though she did not have intelligence, she was very clever and she was able to get what she wanted whatever means necessary.
Other her information that I found on the internet about Evita Peron is that in the movie she looks like a person that knows the government and knows how to run it. But she just was a really good actor at making people believe in her. Example is like this excerpt from www.wikipedia.org, “At the mass rally, the crowd demanded that Evita publicly announce her official candidacy as vice president. The exchange between Evita and the crowd of two million became, for a time, a genuine and spontaneous dialogue, with the crowd chanting, "ˇEvita, Vice-Presidente!". When Evita asked for more time so she could make up her mind, the crowd demanded, "Ahora, Evita, ahora!" ("Now, Evita, now!"). Eventually, they came to a compromise. Evita told the audience that she would announce her decision over the radio a few days later.”
Nicholas Frasier, the biographer of Evita, wrote that, “In her own country, her story is at last part of history, arousing the sort of peaceful controversy one might expect from so astonishing a career. In the rest of the world, however, she has attained the condition of apotheosis.”...
