Throughout my life I have always tried to use logic and reasoning to understand and explain the world around me. This made my education a rather easy experience for me, but hindered my social life somewhat. I have never an emotional person, and have always tried to approach a situation from a logical standpoint first. But along the way, over the years of my life, I have found that certain aspects of our nature and life cannot be solved by logical means, at least not to my knowledge. The first aspect I noticed was the human need and love for music. I noticed that every single person I encountered or read about had some sort of music in their life. I felt it too. I loved music but I could not figure out why. Other aspects included laughter and the need to have a life partner. These things seemed so odd to me and I could not grasp any logical reason as to why we have them. But one of the most peculiar illogical human traits I have noticed is now being jeopardized, that is our awe in nature and the environment. We find such beauty in the simple night sky, I cannot understand why, but I feel it too. But with technology and oil being huge factors of our lives today, they are slowly destroying our environment and we have to ask ourselves what is more important.
I do not believe that any person can honestly say that no aspect of the Earth is beautiful to them. From mountains to oceans to fields, even deserts have their majestic touch. There should be no argument that these features of Earth please us. Our changing lifestyle, however, is also changing the Earth. Our carbon emissions are destroying the ozone layer and may very well destroy the Earth after long enough. Global warming, as controversial as it is, should never be ignored, for it could quickly change the climate of every place on Earth. Examples such as these are inadvertent, accidental and merely the by products of new technologies. But not all are like this. We cut down nearly four billion trees each...
