Egypt
The civilization of Ancient Egypt thrived a major river called the Nile River, in Northeastern Africa for more than 3,000 years. It was by the Nile River from about 3300 B.C. to 30 B.C. Egypt was the longest-lived civilization of the ancient world.
Some scholars figured that only a few hundred thousand people lived in Egypt between 5,000-3,000 B.C. The people of ancient Egypt were polytheistic and believed that their Pharaoh was god as well. The people also believed in reincarnation, which means that what you bury with you when you die you will take with you to the after life. The Egyptians built huge tombs called pyramids. They used these pyramids to bury their rulers when they died. It is still unknown how the Egyptians managed to build the huge pyramids with the limited technology of their day in age. The Egyptians also had a form of writing called hieroglyphics.
The first ancient Egyptian civilization did not develop overnight. Around 3,000 B.C. driven by growing needs and the expanding population, this civilization slowly emerged from prehistory. The first human king to rule all of Egypt was named Menes. Menes is thought to be the first king of the first dynasty, he also united Upper and Lower Egypt into one whole country.
