“Effects of Global Warming”

Global warming is a natural disaster that can be avoided if; peoples understand the affects they have on the Earth. There’re many things that contribute to global warming such as, using cars and factories that uses coal. The dangers of global warming are not only the increase in temperature but, also the melting of the arctic ice like Greenland and Antarctica. Due to the melting of the arctic ice and glaciers water level at sea will rise, flooding coastal cities and small islands. Also, the melting of the arctic ice will cause animals like polar bears to die out because they won’t be able to adapt with their changing environment.   Furthermore, another serious danger of global warming is that it causes natural disasters to become more powerful like hurricanes.
Since 1880 the Earth’s average temperature have risen 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit according to NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changes also, reported that 11 of the last 12 years the weather has been its warmest since 1850. Another thing is the Arctic’s average temperature has risen at twice the global average according to the Multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment reports from 2000 to 2004. These reports shows mainly one common thing and that is if the weather keeps raising at this rate by 2100 sea levels would rise 8 to 19 inches, of which 7 inches would be from melted ice reports estimated.
Global warming is not only the temperature raising but also, the melting the melting of arctic countries which causes sea water levels to rise. If the water level rises 7 to 10 inches this will be enough to flood many small islands and turning large parts of coastline to swamps. Also the melting of the arctic ice will endanger arctic animals like polar bears that use the ice platform to hunt on. And aquatic animals will also be endanger due to the changing ecosystems and acidifying oceans. An example of this happen...
