The Effects On Civil War
The Civil War had an effect on us. The Civil War was one of the most tragic wars in American history. More Americans died in this war then in all other wars combined. In this war we did not fight against other people, we fought brother against brother and the nation was torn apart. There are many reasons why this war took pace. Fist the nation was come together and then the southern states were not allowed to secede. Then the South was placed under military rule and divided into military districts. Southern states then had to apply for readmission to the Union. Then the Federal government proved itself supreme over the states. Basically this was a war over states rights and federalism and the winner had the power of the national government. The war also had an end to slavery. While slavery was not officially outlawed until the passage of the 13th amendment, the slaves were set free upon the end of the war. After the war, reconstruction took place and we started to rebuild America after the war. Thus Industrialism began as a result of the increase in wartime production and the development of new technologies.
I think today that we still look back on this Civil War, because we can forget about it. We still need it for a reminder that if we ever fought with our self's again innocent people will die. I do believe that we benefited form the Civil war, because if we were to fight with our selves today, we would blow up the entire world. It was good that back then, they didn't have the weaponry that we have today. I still think that the Civil War is something in the past and that we should never forget what it to our selves.
