“Edu-Search” SYNOPSIS
OBJECTIVE:
To develop an Academic Repository Search to fulfill the needs of students and teachers in their pursuit of knowledge.

BACKGROUND/OVERVIEW:
Ever since Internet came into picture, every one has become largely dependent on it for the immense material it provides on each and every subject. Online tutoring has revolutionized the education system in a big way. Information on each and every topic is available on the internet but the problem is that the data is highly unorganized and many a times out of reach. Google with its powerful search engine and a motto of “organizing the world’s information and making it easily accessible and useful” has made a sincere effort in the field of education by refining its search results in the form of “Google Scholar” (which provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature), “Google University” (which enables you to narrow your search to a specific school website) and “Google Code for Educators – CS Curriculum Search” (which is very specific only for Computer Science resources) but the results are still quite unfruitful for the students who face immense problem in collecting relevant data regarding any topic of their educational interests. This is where “Edu-Search” aims at building a student and teacher oriented academic repository search containing tutorials, lectures (audio/video), e-books, presentations, open-course-ware, references etc. from non-commercial sources, open source organizations and schools & universities.

MOTIVATION:
Education related searches form one of the largest searches on the web. Students and teachers are always on the lookout for some good stuff, which could aid them in their course work or enhance their knowledge. Generally they have three options:1.
