Eden
When I first arrived on the island I had no intentions of seeing anything really. Denying the request for a tour guide, I hopped into the grayish black jeep to set off on my journey. During the long drive into the heart of the forest I was taken away by the plush green environment that lay in surrounded me. After what seemed like an eternity, I decided to pull over and relieve myself. Climbing out of the jeep I notice a monkey swing from a branch just off into the distance. I decided it would be nice to get a couple pictures of the vast wildlife while I was here. Walking over there slowly and intently I noticed that the 1 monkey turned into about 5 or 6. I raised my camera and before I could even take one picture I was pelted by a barrage of small pebbles. By now these little brown mammals are now ferocious killing beasts that want my soul. I quickly jumped into my jeep and sped off. By now it was getting around to sunset and I realized there wasn’t much time left and eventually I will have to turn around and head back to the airport to go home. Continuing on down the path, I notice a loud sharp crashing sound. I pulled over to see what it was. By now the air was a light mist and smelled like febreeze. Using my machete I cut through the small brush to have a clearer look. That’s when I saw it. Standing 200 to 300 feet tall was the most elaborate looking waterfall I have ever seen. I bent over to see if the water was as good as is looked. The water tasted like a shoe and left a horrible after taste in my mouth. I took a few pictures, hopped into the jeep and started on my way back to the airport. If I would have to put this experience into words, I would have to say this was as close as you would get to heaven without knocking on the door. I call it the Garden of Eden.
