Should the United States Substantially Limit its Global Involvement?

No I agree with Barack Obama that America is the only hope for some people. That the United States global involvement is very important for the world. If the country was to retreat right now it leaves open grounds for other countries to rally and do as they please. To insure our safety I believe it is inevitable for us to limit or global involvement. Especially now that we are already neck deep into the war in Iraq. I do however think that it needs to come to an end and most of our troops need to come home within a reasonable time. You can only fight a fight so long until people forget why they are even fighting or what the main purpose was in the beginning. I think It’s coming to that point because it really doesn’t seem that we are doing much of anything, except made things worse. We have lost a lot of people and made more enemies. It all has to do with how we went into it and because Bush didn’t have an exact plan. I think that he acted out in rage because our country was attack and because he was the president he was expected to do something drastic in order to show American people that we are the super power. Declaring war immediately to ensure our safety. I think that it should have been planed out more and had a strategy, which is visible to the eye. I do think that it was a good idea to invade over there because it keeps them busy over fighting on their land and far away from us.
I think in the last eight years it has got a lot worse and we do bully other countries and force our way onto them when maybe the really don’t need it or want it. There is a difference in being involved to make peace or help out a society at extinction, to being the super power and getting involved with every world problem. So as an American that is unsure if our overly global involvement has made me safer or more at risk to be bombed and taken of the map I think that there has to be a happy medium....
