Introduction
Dream, it is an interesting topic all the while. It is just like an enigma that is so nonfigurative, shapeless and complex.
Dream is a necessary part of human’s social life and culture.
What is a dream? How does dream come into being? Does dream have some meanings? Does dream have some functions for the dreamer? Is there any difference that dream to dissimilar people of age, gender, background and culture? What are the influences of dream to mankind? … People are keeping persevering on ‘dream’ to mouse out the answers. Basic on these, soothsaying and necromancy culture have developed; some neo-art-genre come out and grow up, such like: Surrealism, dream pop… It impulse the development of anthropic art and culture.
Since 1900, Sigmund Freud began to apply ‘dream’ in clinical experimentations for psychoanalysis, and it become the pervasive method for clinical psychological medical treatment up to the present. Though Freud is not the first scholar who study on dream, he collected a plenty of materials of dream from clinical patients, carried through many analysis, found out the materials of dreams and the form of dream, concluded a series of method to analyze dreams. He claimed that dreams are the Royal Road to the unconscious and concluded ‘The content of dream is thus the fulfillment of wish; its motive a wish.’ Basic on these research and study, he finished the literature ‘The Interpretations of Dreams’, it built up the new filed and direction of dream, and Freud recognised as one of the most influential and authoritative psychologist in twentieth century.
By peruse ‘The interpretation of dreams’ and study on the theories of ‘dream’, I made a plenty of research about ‘dream’ and disentombed the ‘subconscious-ness’ and inspiration farther which have some common grounds with dream can applicable to all, each of them can transform, use for reference and advance. Those can inspire us to break the fixed thought and process for design....
