Dracula
Dracula by Bram Stoker was an excellent book written in 1897. In it Jonathan Harker a young English lawyer travels to Castle Dracula (located in Transylvania) where he intends to conclude a real estate transaction with Count Dracula. From here a series of super natural events unfold in front of Harker. He notices peculiar things about Dracula like that he does not eat or drink, very pale, pointy ears, and no mirrors any where in the castle.
Another peculiar thing that happened to Harker was when he was shaving one day and he cut himself. Dracula ended up lunging for Harker yet he was saved because he was wearing a crucifix. The odd thing was however was that Dracula had no reflection in the mirror, the mirror was broken by Dracula after this encounter. Harker was warned not to fall asleep in any other rooms yet curiosity caused him to break into a room where he had an odd experience. Three drop dead (literary), voluptuous, and seductive women surround Harker willing and able to full fill his every desire. These three vampire women would do more to Harker in two paragraphs than Mina would do throughout the whole book. Right before Harker is about to be bitten Dracula comes in and saves the day for his own reasons. Harker eventually escapes after months of being captive by climbing down the walls.
In London Mina (Harker’s Fiancee and future wife) is worried sick about Harker due to the fact he has not returned according to what the letters have stated. Meanwhile a Russian ship is found shipwrecked with the crew missing and the captain tied to the wheel dead. Oddly the only cargo was fifty boxes of mother earth shipped from Castle Dracula. Lucy (Mina’s friend) ends up falling under Dracula’s spell and eventually becomes a vampire even though she received many transfusions and received treatment (involves garlic) from Van Helsing.
After children start going missing it is found that Lucy is indeed a vampire...
