Doing Business In China: Buffalo Wild Wings
Doing Business in the People’s Republic of China:
Buffalo Wild Wings
In this coming age of time businesses have been looking for new ways to improve and expand their business, one of the biggest changes to the economy is the rise of globalization. At an increasing pace domestic United States businesses have been turning to global markets to increase their profits with the recent changes in the American economy. Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in America and I believe that entering a global market would be very beneficial and profitable for the company. Before entering a different market you must first look at the global environment. There are many barriers to entering an international market. One of the largest growing economies recently is that of the People’s Republic of China, or the country commonly referred to as China.
China is the most populous country in the world with an estimated population of 1,330,044,544 [1]. This is remarkable because it is in an area that is slightly smaller than the United States with a land area of 9,326,410 sq km [1] while the United States as 9,161,923 sq km [1] but the U.S. has less than a quarter of the population China has[1]. The large amount of people in just about the same area of land shows there is a great opportunity for growth as a company investing over there. The climate is very diverse with a tropical environment in the south and subarctic temperatures in the north. Areas in south averages lows in the January only get to 58oF [2] and average as high as 91oF [2] in June and do not experience much of a winter at all, this is drastically different than the northeast where average lows in January get to be -13oF [2] and average highs of 79oF [2] in June so they barley feel a summer season. In central China the seasons are well known and vary much like those of the central United States.
China has one of the oldest and most diverse and complex cultures in the world....
