Other factors can also be that by asking for any assistance like cash assistance, it may jeopardize if the person ever wants to file for legal papers. The government may see them as a burden that they don’t need (Reina & Lohman, 2015). The homeless don’t want to risk themselves by asking for help.…

For those who are worthy of help, we can encourage them to work. A brilliant idea that I found is created by Christopher Awalt. He said: “Offer him a hard day's work for an honest wage, and see if he accepts. If he does, tell him you'll pay weekly, so that he will have to work for an entire week before he sees any money. If he still accepts, offer a permanent job, with taxes withheld and the whole shebang. If he accepts again, hire him.” This idea can motivate the homeless and guide them to go back to the normal life. Moreover, the people who cannot offer a job for a homeless, we need to respect them and we can give them some food or some books. Knowledge is powerful, if we give them some inspirational books, they might regain the confidence and come back to the normal life.…

Today's world is cruel and cold. Not so long ago, young people imagined an egalitarian society where men and women wouldn't be limited by money or possessions. A world of peace and abundance where nobody would be left behind. Unfortunately, the future is here, and it looks bleak. We live in a world still plagued with wars, diseases, greed and poverty. In 2015, we are confronted with the harsh realities of the traditionnal economy in which we live. Homelessness is one of those problems, and it does not just hurt a couple of unprivileged souls but the whole of society and our economy.…

Housing First is a program solely dedicated to giving chronically homeless and homeless citizens a home first, although this program is mainly intended for chronically homeless citizens it can also be used by homeless citizens. Chronically homeless citizens have been living on the streets for more than a year, and homeless citizens have been living on the streets for less than a year. Once they are settled in their case manager they were assigned, help them focus on getting a job or rehabilitation if needed. The program also reduces the amount of money the state spends on chronically homeless…

Whenever I walked down the street and see a homeless individual, I do nothing. I can’t really spare change because I use the money I have getting to and paying for school. But I also feel like there’s a bystander effect I think that someone will eventually help, mostly the government. I also feel like homelessness is a really big issue for me to tackle alone. So to answer this question, well I don’t really have an answer, but in my opinion the first step would be to have the willingness to take that first step which is to recognize the homelessness and housing is a problem, I also need to become more educated especially since I never really thought about homelessness and poor quality…

In New Orleans, you can spot a homeless person at every corner. Some are overly dressed for the long cold nights. Others, can’t even afford any type of clothes. Many of these homeless people carry a piece of cardboard asking for money or food. Occasionally, someone will stop and give them money with the uncertainty that the money will be spent on drugs or alcohol. What people fail to realize is that one simple act of kindness can change a person's day.…

Some have signs that ask for food, money, work, but some just ask for you to have a blessed day and have a happy life. What people need to realize is that homeless people are real human beings too! I watched a quick video on www.youtube.com called Homeless Interview: Homeless Man Explains To Us Why He Became Homeless, his name is Cody from Ontario, Canada. His story starts off with him being a child left in front of a foster care facility when he was about 2 years old, and when he turned about 17 years old he was kicked out of the home giving him nowhere to go. Cody mentions: "In my opinion why I am homeless and why other people are homeless, it 's. . . there was no structure in my family." The people begging on the streets mainly did not have a life with structure and stability to have the ability to work or find themselves. When a person gets to this point in their life they lose their identity as a person and feel lost. These people need a better system(government help) and community to help them off their feet and find who they want to…
