DECIDING STRATEGY
In order to determine upon which strategy to implement, permit me to define globalization as having product standardized all over the world. *Inkpen*, *Ramaswamy* (2006) stated that *“Globalization* as the worldwide interconnection at the cultural, political and economic level resulting from the elimination of *communication and trade barrier. Multicountry strategy speaks of customization of product in different countries. Thompson, Strickland, Gamble (2009) stated that “Multicount*r*y* strategy is to customize the company’s offerings in each different country market to more precisely match the tastes and preferences of local buyers.
To arrive at my conclusion these factors were considered for the following products in determining better strategy to use:
1. How are the products manufactured?
2. How are they installed in their final working place?
3. What sort of interaction do they have with the users?
4. What kind of provision is needed to distribute and retail them?
*Personal Computers: To sell a personal computer I believe it is of importance*to know if it the product have a pre installed operating system and application and since personal computer is all about user *interaction*,* the language *barrier comes in, C*ountry to country according to their national language. So also *taste* prefe*rence and cost implication, what* buyers can afford would make me adopt *multicountry strategy to sell personal computers in different countries.
An online MBA degree: Since a global strategy works better in markets* t*hat are globally competitive*, * A*lmost going to pick globalization as my strategy to use but then I have to change my mind for the same reason *, Language.* I* believe that *mul*ticountry* will serve *better;* culture is an important aspect of an online education.
