Under what circumstances, if any, might the legalization or decriminalization
of drugs be beneficial to
society?
It would allow for the law enforcers to focus less on the drug cortell and operations and focus more on crimes that are actually very harmful to citizens as gang related criminal activities as robbery, rape, assaults, and many different crimes that could be addressed and acted on very quickly because of the great manpower that the law enforcement gains for not running down drug dealers, arresting them, and filling our courtrooms with them. They would not be able to make money since everything will be taxed, exact purchases would be known, the junkie would be able to get more treatment and the business would go down quick because the government will have it under control. The drugs as marijuana, cocaine and others could be grown by croppers and be regulated under thefood and drug administration. The marijuana could be sold in packs the same way as cigarettes and this is good because marijuana does not cause cancer.
Should greater control be placed on
the sale of alcohol?
Yes,I consider alcohol a drug because it can cause a lot of harm to the body. There are people that die from cirrohcisof the liver and alcohol poisoning. I must not forget to mention that the impairment affect the alcohol has on the body. It has caused many lives to be lost from car accidents, vehicular homicide, thedeath of so many teens. The teens really think that a car is a toy and that there does not need to be any regulations and rules on driving under the influence of alcohol. I think that a greater control should be placed on alcohol. By manufacturing alcohol as a weaker substance we could almost wipe out about half of crimes that come with over indulging. There could also be higher prices and taxes placed on alcohol to prevent some from buying it or buying less of it. I have an aunt that died from cirrociusof the liver. All stores in her area would not sale...
