Construct and Support and Argument
Education has always been an essential role in my life. I grew up with both parents having a college degrees my mother achieved her undergrad and my father his graduate degree. As growing up with parents that had such a strong belief in education it was engraved in me that I was also going to go to college. I was always a decent student in high school but when I came to the age of having to really decide on college I was a little concerned. I felt like I was smart but not college smart, the pressure of being expected to achieve a college education outweighed my fear. After I achieved my undergraduate degree I came to a similar obstacle “achieving my graduate degree”. If I thought a bachelors degree was intimidating I should have took a look at the graduate degree.
There have been a lot of changes in my life since I’ve achieved my undergraduate degree such as having three children, getting married, having a mortgage and a full time job and only being twenty six. I knew it was important to achieve a graduate degree to get into a great career but I thought “how will I ever have the time, how will it effect my family”. This was a huge obstacle for me knowing if I could really juggle all that I have going on and being successful in a graduate program that would cost me thousands of dollars.
I knew getting my graduate degree was going to be very important and essential for job stability and in landing a good paying career, especially having three little ones relying on me. To help me come up with a logical decision I thought it would be a good idea to discuss it with my wife since it would have a major huge affect on her. When I explained to her my idea of returning to school she didn’t think it would be a good idea.
