Conservation and Preservation
Conservation is the environmentally safe way to obtain the resources. Preservation is to leave the land in its natural state. Ii believe that both sides of this issue have a valid point. We need to become less dependant on foreign resources but, we also need to be more aware of our environment. I believe that the environment should be preserving and not allowed to be disturbed. We need to find an alternative method to get the things we need without destroying more of our environment. I believe as the people in the video the natural state of the land is far more valuable than the resources that might be taken from the land. The land in the video can never be replaced and even using an environmentally friendly method can cause alterations in the land. I believe that the method would start of environmentally friendly but, there is the chance that this method could be corrupted and the damage to the environment irreversible. We need to find a different method to offset the use of foreign resources.
We should do as the people in the video have done and show the land to others as well as the activities. We should not take the resources and alter them that wildlife uses to for our own personal gain. We should seek ways to preserve the land and still provide the land and provide human beings with the things they need. We can do this by solar power, cutting back on things that destroy the environment, and use hybrid cars. I believe that the energy policy needs to be revised but, not by taking the resources we have not disturbed but, using the technology and knowledge we have to come up with effective ideas. I believe a lot of this issue is political and economical everyone wants change but, people don't want to pay for that change.
