community service
Community service paper
This is my first time do community service. I think it is a good thing. Many think that community service is just something you are forced to do for school. To me, community service is a way of giving back. I like making people feel as though they matter, and it gives me a warm feeling at the end of the day because I feel I have made a difference. I grow as a person each time I do community service. When I was in China, I didn’t do much community service, and, I do not know why community service is important. However, I know why community service is important, because it is helping a lot of people. Some people who need help can not always help themselves. It’s always nice to help once in a while. it is also good to put on an application for anything. Some people feel good about helping people. In addition, during Community Service, you will also be able to learn some valuable life skills such as team working (Since most Community Service will be done in a group) and also communicating. Sometimes, Community Service would also involve lots of planning and therefore, organizing skills. And people are very generous to give up their time to make a change to our community. For my community service, I learned a great deal about what it would mean to do my first community service. I first had to learn that in order to do my service successfully, my time and energy in particular. This is my first time do community service, so I don not know what I should do, I knew that that would be difficult, but ultimately, I was able to summon the ability to do that. I worked at foster family Christmas party. As far as my learning in general, I learned about myself as I saw how good it felt to do something for someone else. Just for the good of mankind, not for any other reason. I also think it helped me to learn how to work with other people. In addition, I learned that my community as a whole is a pretty strong one, and I am proud not only to be a part

I volunteer in my community whenever I get the opportunity. For example, I helped students get to school safely and I helped out around the school. I volunteered at the public library to help younger children. I now see it is hard work to get children focused and help them not make a big mess, but I enjoyed helping them in any way I can. Volunteering at the public library also taught me about patience. Not everything went exactly how I planned it out, but at the end it still worked out. My time at the library also taught me about effort.…

Think back to when you were a kid and you waited anxiously for the whole school year to be over with so you could do that one special thing. For my friends and I it was going to the big, red bricked church down the road and getting free sack lunches. The older I got the roles had been switched, from receiving the lunches, to providing the lunches for the anxiously waiting kids. Community service changes the life of you, and also the lives of others.…

I learned many things about myself and the world around me. One major thing I learned serving breakfast to the homeless was how important it is to give back to the less fortunate. Something as simple as saying hello or handing them a napkin can put the biggest smile on someones face and make their day. Giving back should not be such a burden on people. Our generation today complains and complains. We think we have it so bad because we can't do things like have a logo on our jackets, but when you think about it, at least we have jackets. From this experience. I learned that giving back to others needs to be made a priority in my life. I realized how much I value community service and how important it is to me. Equally important, I learned the importance of faith. For some of these people, faith is all that they have. God is the only person they have to fall back on. For someone who lives on the streets without a home or a family, faith and prayer can mean the world to them. Another important thing that I learned about myself is how good helping others makes me feel. To know that I made a difference in the world and helped someone get through their day, as rough as it was, fills me with a sense of gratitude. This experience was a true eye-opener for…

As long as I can remember service to others was always encouraged by my family and teachers. For example, I helped teachers with the intent of lightening their load of work so they can be able to go home earlier. Things like this make me proud because I am able to help others, and to bring a smile to their faces. My excuse to avoid community service was that I always thought that school was all about homework and getting good grades to be on the top 20 of your class. Truth is I have always overlooked this people thinking they were being lazy for not working, but through this community service I learned that each and everyone around the world is fighting their own battles and we all deal with them the best way we can. I am proud of myself because I went to that community service and learned about this people who I had always stereotyped by their actions, community service has encouraged me to actively listen and learn from others, to walk alongside my neighborhood and to build new…

I used to go every summer to programs in the city parks and every morning we would clean the community for example going around the block picking up trash. For us it was a competition, since those who picked up the most trash would receive a price. During middle school I was also doing community service but not as much anymore since playing sports took most of my time. But once in a while I would volunteer for the Houston Food Bank, packing food packs for those in need. During high school I became the President of one of the organizations called The Humane Club. In this organizations, the other officers and I, would gather different students from the school and gave them community hours if they would go out with us and clean out the communities. We would all go out into the community and paint houses of people who were already old, we would cut their yards, and do any hard work they couldn’t do due to their…
