In the course of doing business in the modern world, there inevitably are going to be times when working in a group of professionals on a project becomes necessary. Choosing the right team members, delegating the right tasks, setting appropriate deadlines, and seeing the project through to a successful end are just a few of the things that need to be included in the planning phase of the project. Building a strategy for these issues along with how to accommodate for different learning styles and personality traits are essential. These strategies represent a sampling of many that can be used to complete a winning project with diverse team members.

Strategies for Different Learning Styles

Not every person learns concepts in the same way as others do. Some people are more inclined to learn with a hands-on approach, while others may need visual aids. The idea is to produce the right environment and circumstances by which all members can go off to their individual assignments, with an idea of what the finished project will be. For the members whose primary function involves the use of logic and mathematics, a scientific method or prescribed formula will clarify their function within the group and provide them with the basis by which to begin their work. For the more visually inclined members, a multimedia presentation, printed materials, and even sketches usually provides them with enough direction to follow a path to successfully complete their tasks. For those who learn best from a verbal approach, using repetitive words, using different vocal tone inflections and allowing them to vocally express themselves allows them to focus on the overall goal.
