Some of Apple’s best-known hardware products include the Macintosh line of personal computers, the iPod line of portable media players, and the iPhone. Apple's software products include the Mac OS X operating system, iTunes media browser, the iLife suite of multimedia and creativity software, and Final Cut Studio, a suite of professional audio- and film-industry software products. (wikipedia) Apples latest success can be attributed to Jonathan Ive who between the years of 1998 and 2005 rebuilt Apple computer’s by introducing a redesigned desktop unit called the iMac. Later Jonathan Ive who with the help of an engineering team from Apple introduced the iPod and the iPhone. It was not unitl the introduction of the iPod in Octorber of 2001 did Apple realize their potential in the consumer electronics market. A few years later Apple computers corporation dropped the word "Computer" on January 9, 2007 to reflect the company's ongoing expansion into the consumer electronics market in addition to its traditional focus on personal computers. Apple’s success can be attributed to their ongoing efforts to find an edge over their competiton by creating and offering society new and inovative electronics at resonable prices. Although Apple was not always so productive and fortunate. The early years at Apple where difficult, the PC was turning everyone’s head and Apple decided to get into the market by offering the Macintosh portable which was the predessaor to the PowerBook which did better then the Macintosh portables. Along with bulky portable units Apple realesed several model’s of portable computer’s including the Centris line, a low end model called Quadra offering, and the ill-fated Performa line which almost brought the company to bankruptcy.
