(wikipedia) Apples latest success can be attributed to Jonathan Ive who between the years of 1998 and 2005 rebuilt Apple computer’s by introducing a redesigned desktop unit called the iMac. Later Jonathan Ive who with the help of an engineering team from Apple introduced the iPod and the iPhone. It was not unitl the introduction of the iPod in Octorber of 2001 did Apple realize their potential in the consumer electronics market. A few years later Apple computers corporation dropped the word "Computer" on January 9, 2007 to reflect the company's ongoing expansion into the consumer electronics market in addition to its traditional focus on personal computers. Apple’s success can be attributed to their ongoing efforts to find an edge over their competiton by creating and offering society new and inovative electronics at resonable prices.
