Career Development Plan

Kudler Fine Foods was established in 1998 by Kathy Kudler with the ultimate vision of providing a unique brand of quality organic foods for the local upscale communities. The first store was opened in La Jolla (Kudler, 2007). With the success of the first location, Kathy was able to expand her business and open to other more stores in Del Mar and Encinitasis.
The company is in a process of going through a complete and much needed restructure. As part of this restructuring, store mangers have been promoted to midlevel management team. The subordinates working for the midlevel managers will be revised. The managers need to hire additional personnel, develop training plans for new and current employees and consider better methods for appraising the team’s performance than have been used in the past. This proposal will is meant to describe in detail the new structure and will be delivered to upper management in regards to how this restructure will be designed and implemented.

Title: Store Manager
Responsibility and Purpose of the position
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store; includes revenue and all employees
• Champion the company vision and values
Major Responsibilities
• Assist and support the general manager with all departmental functions
• Interview, select, train, evaluate, counsel and terminate Team Members
• Follow food safety, cleaning procedures
• Maintain accurate pricing
• Maintain stocking
• Practice and preach safe use and maintenance of all tools
• Report any safety violations immediately to concerned authorities
• Maintain product availability and storage
• Understand nutritional aspects
• Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager

Requirements/Qualifications
• 2-5 years of experience in retail sales management
• Extensive knowledge of gourmet products
• Basic computer literacy
• Willingness to work on weekends and multiple shifts
