Canadian Natural Resources Limited is a senior independent oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company based in Calgary, Alberta. The company’s operations are focused in Western Canada, the North Sea and Offshore West Africa.
As a result of their phenomenal growth, they are looking for dynamic, talented, self-motivated individuals who possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to contribute effectively in a dynamic team environment. The CNRL’s managers and head office of Human Resource Department decide what kind of jobs and positions they need to create and which jobs and positions that they need new employee to fit in. CNRL currently has more than 3,000 employees and expected to has more than 2,400 employees in next seven years.
The second stage is job identifying stage. The head office of Human Resource Department makes job specifications and descriptions. They decide the qualifications of applicants including education level, experience, technical knowledge and interpersonal and organizational skills.
The third stage is selection method. CNRL recruits many appropriate applicants from both inside and outside of the company, including current employees, college or university students, skilled workers from other organizations and even personal from outside of Canada. CNRL’s main method of internal recruitment is job posting. HR department recruits the qualified and less training needed employees within the organization which can give an equal opportunity to all employees, reduce favouritism, demonstrate commitment to company’s career growth and communicate CNRL’s policies
