The company that I am investigating is Marks and Spencer store. I am going to produce an insight on the company’s mission statement, its aims and objectives and the responsibility within the business.

Marks and Spencer is a Private Limited Company (PLC), which falls under the Private Sector. Being a Private Limited Company means that Marks and Spencer is listed on the stock market, and I have founded that they are “[1]One of the largest retailers on the London Stock Exchange” It is a substantially huge store which not only has franchises in the United Kingdom but also international. The total number of stores in the United Kingdom amounts to 622, these are made up of Flagship stores with a total of 44, 219 High street stores, 27 Retail Park stores, 33 M&S Outlet stores which are potentially a lot smaller than most high street stores, 167 Simply Food Stores and 132 Simply Food Franchised Stores.
Internationally, they have 278 stores across many different countries, below is a list stating the different countries and how many stores each country has:

All the information above shows that they are a very large and successful store, the employment rate of Marks and Spencer is also a large amount, they employ over 75,000 people across the UK and this figure includes internationally as well.
