It can give you this incredible form of verbal pleasure.” Collins truly sends his readers to new places with his poems. Billy Collins writes with childhood, and memories as his main themes. By writing about childhood, and memories from the past Collins brings his reader into the poem. Everyone reading his poems has had a childhood, and has memories of that childhood, so they can put themselves into the poem and it has a much deeper meaning to the reader. Most of his poems are written in free verse. Writing in free verse allows him to write whatever he wants without worrying about following a specific rhyme…

After I read the ASCA Model on page 9 of textbook, I knew the leadership, advocacy, teaming and collaboration and systemic change are all what school counselors should focus on. I also learned that school counseling is a profession that focuses on the relations and interactions between students and their school environment with the purpose of reducing the barriers in order to help students to success. In my opinion, the team-member and collaborator is the most challenging for a school counselor in an urban school setting. Because as an effective team-member and collaborator, school counselor work with teachers, administrators and other school personnel to make sure that each student succeeds. However, sometimes working with other school setting educators is not very easy. For example, some teachers do not like to follow the advices from counselors, they believe that their ways are perfect. Hence, they do not want to hear the voice from counselors. I understand everybody has different ideas, but I also believe that our students will get benefits if we can work together as a team. We share our opinions and hear everyone’s advice. Because our goals are same, we all hope each student succeeds. Even though the coloration is challenging and difficult, we still need to do it with our efforts.…

He obtains his success from the success of his students. He loves to help out students and push them in the right direction. I was fortunate enough to have that push I needed in life from him. Right after graduation he invited me to go on a pilgrimage for vocations that he had been going on since he was a little kid. He told me it would be a great experience. He was right, it really helped me emotionally, especially because of where I was at in my life making the transition from high school to college or as he said “Your transition from teenager to young man.” I wasn’t planning on attending college but he motivated me and helped me so I could go on to attend UNM. Once I was at UNM he also helped me get a job at ENLACE, which is where he had worked as a tutor when he was in college. I can see how successful he has become from the way he gives me advice and the way he helped me and helps others in need as well. I decided to interview Mr. Gonzales because he is a responsible, motivated, emotionally intelligent man. Truthfully I really feel like he has all eight of the success strategies from the On Course text.…
