Overview
In 1998, the Bead Bar Company started with one small studio in New Canaan, Connecticut. Bead Bar has now developed into a thriving business across the United States, consisting of three divisions; studios, franchises and Bead Bar on Board. The company also has 15 full-time and 20 part-time employees throughout the various studios.
The goal of the Systems Development Project is to move Bead Bar in to the digital world.
Bead Bar is committed to improving their workflow and quality of service for their employees and customers. This digital status can be achieved, by using an interconnected information system and network that can collect, store, process, retrieve, and distribute information.
In order to accomplish this goal, an information system will be implemented using ring topology and client-server network architecture. In addition, a relational database management system (DBMS) will be incorporate to provide the support and security needed for the company’s data. This information system will be a versatile and expandable system that will provide Bead Bar with the means to continue to develop and advance in the corporate world.
Planning
The following resources required for the Systems Development Project to function and process correctly have been determined. The hardware, software, network and database resource requirements are laid out in the following sections.
The hardware being used for Bead Bar Company’s information system will provide the necessary support for all departments to work and develop. A hardware requirements list has been created to explain what is needed and where the equipment will be dispersed. Please review the following hardware requirements and distribution list.
