Section I- The Closing of the Frontier

A) The Non-Indians that settled in the Great Plains rapidly was do to the search for silver and gold.
1.) The Continental Road, system was a major factor for such settlement it carried people to the west. Do to the enormous Buffalo and cattle ranching gave birth to the cowboys.

2.) The architectural reform lied to people that were emigrating from Scandinavia and Russia these reforms were more as a bribery to come to those Great Plains and settle. It was than heart broken to realize that they were to these immigrants never thought that they were going to find lots of dry land and no near water women worked very hard to help the whole family.
B.) The American Indian did not want to leave the land they were born in and had been living for a long time many times they would try to accommodate and come to an agreement with the U.S. soldiers but it was impossible the "Cheyenne soldiers" as the native Indians were called they refuse to give it up as a tribe they stuck together their chief by the name of Joseph. On June the 26th 1866 army suffered. The Indians believed in their on myths like for example they believed that "The Ghost spirit" which meant that all those people that died could come back and special dances where made for them.
C.) The Dows act was meant to make Indians adopt the white's settlement. That was a complete failure.
D.) Mark Twain "condemned the business class" most Americans believed in becoming very successful and advance economically but slowly.
Section II – The Rise of Big Business
A.) This decade was definitely the rise of American corporations and industrial production. In 1876 the Steam engine was invented. In that same year Edison came up with a new telephone and he perfected the light bulbs. Morgan found the steel to build railroads.
