Argumentative Essay: Should Gun Control Laws?
Why is gun control the supposed “cure” for crime? Why is there always this need to blame guns for people’s crimes? If this theory is correct, then the belief that pencils cause grammatical errors is also true; wait, that doesn’t sound right, does it? Now, all of a sudden when the “cure” is used in this light it becomes ridiculous. In fact, Americans have a constitutional right to own handguns, and stricter laws and licensing will not effectively save lives.
Guns kill people? What gave somebody that this was a smart idea? Humans created guns to gather food and then guns evolved into defense against perplex enemies. Guns cannot load and shoot themselves; they are simply tools. Tool’s actions are completely dependent on the user, just like a computer is only as smart as it’s user. Along with the belief that guns kill people, there are a few other sayings that are as equally illogical. For instance, as stated above, pencils cause grammar mistakes. Once again a pencil is only a tool created by humans. Another saying is that spoons make people fat; once again theses are illogical expression that most people think are ridiculous, but for some reason, they’re completely viable when used in the gun debate.

Currently, school zones are a gun free zone, is this really the safest thing? No, gun free zones are a target for any criminal; in fact, it doesn’t have to be a criminal, even a mentally unstable person. This, in other words, is a defense free zone. The warning signs might as well state, “Fish in a barrel, bring a gun, and take out as many people as you can.” Is this really worth the risk? The next scientist that cures cancer is at a constant risk of being shot, by whom is the real question? Does society really want our top new work force to be at risk for their lives everyday? We shouldn’t leave them defenseless to whoever walks into the

All in all, it is not a good choice for American society at the present stage to ban gun. From the constitutional view, Gun Ban is contrary to the constitution of human rights and protection spirit; from the political view, it will increase the risk of tyranny; from the economic view, it will lead criminal squares to become one of the guns of the monopolist; from the social reality view, it leads to the lack of citizen means of self-defense; finally, from social culture view, it does not conform to the American culture tradition and social psychology. I think the key to the problem of gun crime is not the gun itself, but the deep problems of the society, such as poverty, social life and so on. I think gun control is just a…

The purpose of this draft is to inform the readers of the correlation between guns and drugs. In this draft I hope to inform the general public, the students and Professor of ENGL 111, how drugs may be implicated in many of the mass shootings. As we are all aware guns do not shoot people, it takes a person to decide to use it. It is believed by many experts that medication alters the mind and the mind controls the trigger finger. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. The focus of this draft is to convey information or ideas as clearly and effectively as possible.…

So, I believe that Americans should be able to own guns and not have their 2nd amendment infringed upon because the 2nd amendment says “ The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This implies that the people of the U.S can have weapons to defend themselves and no further. Now obviously there is flaws to this as there is criminals that use weapons for horrible acts, but we have people that own guns to protect themselves from the criminals in which case a weapon is used in self defence and not to commit an act of crime. As well as people who use them to protect themselves it is also not meant to kill the gun for example is something that doesn’t kill the user of the…

This world is a scary place. Having a concealed weapon offers you a protection you would otherwise have to wait according to Peoria pd on average 6.7 minutes. When there is an emergency we don’t always have the time we need in order to wait for professionals to arrive. Much like CPR, we train ordinary people to give CPR so we can keep someone alive while waiting for professionals. We need trained ordinary people to help and give us that little bit of extra time.…

Although guns provide a good way to protect us, they also offer an effective method to kill others. Perhaps many people may argue that gun is just one of the numerous tools killers use, they believe that gun control can’t eliminate murder. However, “The biggest problem with firearms is they kill quickly and they kill efficiently. The problem there is the instant impulse leads to death” (Schoener). Even though the government set up several restrictions for owning guns, killers can easily get them. What is worse, with the gun culture, people are more likely to release their anger by shooting. These entire make the gun law the most dangerous law we’ve ever…

Some believe that the government should make gun laws stricter for the safety of them and their family. Others feel that that the gun laws should remain the same, because they don’t want their constitutional rights violated. What is the controversy surrounding this topic? The controversy is that the government believes that the world would be a safer place if the gun laws are stricter. Some feel that their rights would be violated, and the final group of people is the ones who are kind of on both sides. They want the laws to be stricter but they also care about their own rights. The government has to find a solution that will satisfy all three groups of people. They try to find balance amongst the group. Should the…

There is a old saying that guns dont kill people, people kill people. This is a known saying that comes out all the time when this conversation pops up.The media portrays gun control in a positive light, they believe that this is something that would work; I believe that gun control will never work and giving people guns to protect themselves and taking guns from people the public judges or deems unfit is a terrible idea. It is unsafe, and also endangering people's lives and is unfair, plus it is going against the second amendment which many have died to protect.…

Guns do a lot of bad, but do a lot more good for society. Banning guns will not stop the problem, but will just make it worse. Guns are apart of our society as Americans they have been around since colonial years, and are not leaving anytime soon. “The number of guns in America has increased by more than 50 percent since 1993, and in that same period the gun homicide rate in the United States has dropped by half. (Kristof, The Times).” Guns offer protection for individuals. One day you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a shooting breaks out, you will pray there is someone else there with a concealed firearm to help control the situation while waiting for police to arrive. They can’t do that if guns are banned. “We need to understand that we cannot stop crimes and murders. And banning guns would be a step, or two, backwards instead of moving forward in the right direction (The Times News).” The research conducted to produce this paper was drawn from a multitude of sources all with different…

The first thought that comes to mind when most people think of “handguns” is death. A handgun is described as a firearm that can be held with one hand, such as a revolver or a pistol. Because of it’s size a handgun can be easily concealed and therefore one of many weapons used in violent crimes particularly within inner city communities. Will banning handguns decrease crime? Should handguns only be carried by law officials and military personnel? Handguns do not kill people; “people kill people”. In this article I will address the above questions and express why I feel handguns should not be banned.…

Imagine relishing a movie at Regal Cinemas 16, eating at Taco Bell, or sitting in a history class with Br. Yasser at our school while people all around us are carrying loaded guns! Albeit this may seem unbelievable, it is possible because the second amendment of the United States Constitution gives denizens the right to possess and carry guns. It is understandable that Americans would optate to possess guns such as shotguns and rifles for the popular sport of hunting. However, it is ridiculous that our regime would sanction people to carry handguns in public. Handgun possession should be stringently constrained, because they are made solely to kill people, they have incremented the murder rate, and they have even enabled children to facilely injure another child.…

One of the biggest controversial topics in America today is Gun Control, whether we should or should not have gun control. The Government claims that if they take the guns away, that there will be a drop in deaths and crimes. The Second Amendment state that every citizen of the United States of America has a right to bare arms(ProCon#1). The Gun Control Law will take away that right completely, along with some of our freedom. If the Gun Control Law is enforced in the United States, our hunting right will be removed, our self-defense right will be taken away, and it will amplify the problem.…
