July 6, 1942 the Frank family were desperately trying to escape Nazi Germany that was under the control of Adolf Hitler. The Franks and the rest of the Jews in Germany had to flee Germany or go into hiding to avoid Nazi persecution. The Frank family decided to hide along with another Jewish family, the Van Pels and a man named Fritz Pfeffer in a secret annex of a building. The Frank family hid in the secret annex for more than 2 years. There was a special young member of the Frank family named Anne Frank. Anne Frank kept a diary of the family's experiences while living in the secret annex.
