An Unforgettable Holiday
Our summer vacation cabin, where we spent every summer, had wooden front steps and two narrow glass doors that opend inwards. the living room was large and contained a small telivision that sat on a glass stand. Infront of the television was a couch and lounge chair that didnt match. They smelled of old perfume and dust. Pictures of seagulls and lighthouses hung furmly against the wall. the showcase was filled with deritive plates, and trinkets. As I explored the property, I found myself in a fairy tale like wood, that emediatly woke my inner child.

nestled along the hillside, the cabin was surrounded by lush green gardens, and matured trees, covered in fuzzy black bumblebees. a freshely painted wooden deck wrapped halfway around the cabin, and on it, sat a large hot tube that overlooked the ocean. If you peered over the deck you towards the ocean, you would see a large rock formation in the shape of a whale's head, ideal for sunbathing. Infront of the rock, lay piles of driftwood, washed down from the river that flowed beneath the highway.

the beach was dark and ashy from campfires, which made the sun bleached drifwood and sea shells come to life. Picking up seashells to make artefacts to pass the time is a great hobby. thick fog rolled in patches as the sun brurned through it. Orange and purple starfish washed to shore. Colourful polished stones fonneld out from a creek, and fresh water flowed sideways through the sand. People played with their dogs, children built sand castles while others took pictures

next to the beach was a hiking trail; lined with unripe rasberries, ferns and the most beautiful purple wild flowers, I'd ever seen. At the end of the trail stood three large diameter drainage tunnels were mostly used as a short cut to the beach, instead of crossing the busy high way.

To spend a summer here is as close that you get to paradise. A hiker-; beacher-; sufer-; forest fanalicals dream. Time to do deversed things - time seems to stand

The causeway we drove on was curved and tall enough for the sailboats below to pass under. As I looked down, I could see a group of beautiful condos on the shore. They contrasted brightly with the white sand around them, painted colors normally found in a box of crayons. I took in the sight of all the fancy high-rise condos and hotels, with a few beach huts sprinkled in between. We arrived at our hotel, and I quickly unloaded and unpacked my belongings. The beach was waiting for me.…

The thick tree lines and vast open fields bring a sense of freedom and grandeur. The brilliant light shining like beacon of hope with the soft calming breeze flowing across the field is refreshing and pure like a baby after a warm bath. The air seems to be free and clear of the city’s poisonous air pollution and the soft sounds of birds makes it all too refreshing, like a beautiful day on the beach. With quiet clean monuments and buildings dancing across the landscape, the look of peace and quiet seems to be present at last. As the blue crisp skies begin to darken across the brilliant blue pond, the shimmering light hitting the trees is as beautiful as the sun setting on the Catalina Island on a bright blue day with soft clouds flowing across the sky. I have the taste of fresh fruit on my tongue in my mouth as I take a long deep breath, and realize how much the soft green grass adds to the peacefulness in the park. I can hear the cheerful wildlife scampering beyond the tree line, like young children frolicking in their mother’s front yard. As the quiet darkness sets in, and with the city brilliant lights in the background, the serene park makes the bustling city seem peaceful once…

When I open the door it was like a home filled with love and purity my ideal home it was just perfect. As soon as u walk in you see an average size kitchen on the right and a big bathroom with a bedroom on the left and when you keep walking straight there is a living room and a balcony with the most spectacular view of the pier and upstairs there is a bathroom and two rooms. For the first week or so it felt like I was in heaven waking up in the morning and looking upon the whole town covered in fog going to the rocks and looking for crabs, snails, and shells. One day we decide to go to the ocean and although it was cold we went and started searching for shells and then we found something that I happen to know what it was but never actually felt it alive and fresh out the water. I picked it up and showed it to my friend and we started running to the apartments and showed everyone what we found, everyone had their mouths open and started to touch it. There was a tiny voice that started to say to put the purple starfish back because it deserves to live and so i went back and tried to go as deep as I can to lay it down so no one will harm it. For many days we went to the beach till sunrise to sunset watching the tides rise and decrease and seeing the…

The trip around the lake was quick. Once we reached the other side we encountered a garden. The garden was very healthy and appeared to been well taken care of. It was full of bright, vibrant colors. The garden was filled with exotic beauty. Every type of flower you can think of. Some rare and some not. Vines were hanging everywhere and the ground was covered in a spongy moss that made you feel like you were sinking into it.…

We jumped back in the car and hit the road. There wasn’t much to see heading into California. It is very similar to Vegas, in that, they are both lush with green grass and towering palm trees. But once we hit Laguna Beach, it was like a whole new world. It was a small town filled with very friendly people. Shiny, luxurious cars lined the streets, at least every third one being a convertible. People filled the beaches and streets, taking in the sunshine, some walking dogs, others bordered by what looked like family or friends. When we pulled up to our hotel, a quaint little Inn; spitting distance from the beach, we were pleasantly surprised. A two level spread of rooms surrounding a swimming pool that was accompanied by a hot sauna made out of an actual wine barrel. The nightly rate wasn’t much, the most we could afford for the planned two nights booked in a paradise called Laguna, so we had prepared for less. We checked in and walked straight to the beaches. Words cannot describe the sights of these beaches. The tide was low and we were able to walk right onto the coral reefs and admire the collected puddles of water and sea life. Beautiful pinkish, orange starfish and prickly, purple sea urchins lined the walls while small fish and hermit crabs explored the territory. The sky was the bluest blue and the sun beamed down on our skin, toasting us the perfect bronze, without a…

I could see the heat waves swelling off of the sand near the water. The tall water grasses growing a few yards from the beach launch were turning brown and brittle from the constant sun (Woodford). It was supposed to be a hot summer, but even I didn’t think it was going to be this sweltering.…

For the first three nights everything was calm and peaceful. The beach was a mix of white and black sand, so fine that the Gods must have laid it here themselves, along with every tree in the jungle, that loomed over the fire I sat by at night. A short walk from where I landed was a high cliff, the only high point on the island, where the freshest water fell into a bed of glass, and created little ripples throughout the pond. The waterfall was where all the other animals seemed to go to refresh, sharing the only fresh water I could…

As you approach the seaside, you are captivated by its beauty. The breathtaking panoramic view is enough to make your knees go weak. The bright, round sun blinds you as it appears rising and climbing like a yellow lemon on the horizon. The radiant rays of the neon sun reflect off of the untouched white sand that covers the ground as far as the eye can perceive. These perfectly placed grains of sand shine like flawlessly polished diamonds. Emerging from the pale sand are enormous jagged, kaki colored palm tree trunks that stand as tall as skyscrapers. Oversized, razor-sharp, emerald leaves hang from the tops while swaying back and forth in the light ocean breeze. The ocean water sparkles and glitters playfully like twinkling stars flickering in the night sky. The sights alone are enough to soften your soul with tranquility.…

On the other side of the window in the suburb of Lincolnshire, IL a ravishing scene is unfolding, one that definitely deserves a closer look. Once in the open air, it is obvious that it is that time of year again. My backyard has fully awoken from hibernating in its long, cold slumber and sprung to life. Gone is the dead of winter and half-consciousness of spring; here is the bright and busy season so long-awaited. I take a moment to allow the senses in my body to take over and intake the signals of the air that summer has arrived.…

Immediately upon arrival I headed to the beach and buried my feet in the gleaming hot white sand. I stood on the edge of this breathtaking tropical island and saw water so blue, that it more resembled liquid sapphire. The ocean's salt stained breeze kissed my skin only enough to askew my hair and soften the mandarin orange suns heat. The ocean was like a cool rejuvenating enveloping blanket. Staggered black jetties stretched like fingers into the deep blue water offering the gulls something to bask in the sun on.…

The summer of 2009, my family hopped into my little car looking forward to a peaceful outdoors vacation, our destination, a tranquil cabin located in Summersville, West Virgina. The area was spectacular, the cabin quaint, the water blissfully inviting, everything was just perfect, we found our own little utopia. Many days we would hike down to the lake enjoying picnics atop the gently sun warmed boulders as the soft breeze caressed our faces. It was sensationally relaxing, I had but a care in the world, until we came across that magnificent 43 foot waterfall.…

It was a sunny Friday afternoon when I decided to take my observations with me out into the world. I find that my imagination wanders off on its own and takes trips to the ocean without me so I figured my body had some catching up to do. With a snap of my fingers and a short ride through the canyon I found myself at my childhood playground, Zuma Beach. Without hesitation I laid my towel down upon the tiny grains and chips of rocks that the oceans might has turned into sand over the years. I took a moment to put my life on hold and gaze at what nature had to offer to me. I reflected upon all of the other places I could have been instead of standing with my toes curling in the warm sandy beach and smiled in appreciation of my situation.…

The beach is a beautiful scene of peace and tranquility. Every moment is a different scene.
