Back in the day, everyone use to look down on me because I smoked. I started smoking at an early age, way before it was the "cool thing" to do. Back then not everyone was open to that type of behavior. When I was in the sixth grade I encountered my first real teasing session. The kids smelled my clothes, and called me stinky boy. I know this doesn't sound like much but back in the sixth grade it was detrimental. Those kids continued to make fun of me up until the ninth grade. In the ninth grade I met many other kids that shared my passion for smoking. By the end of ninth grade everyone that use to make fun of me was out doing exactly what he or she made fun of me for doing.
Most people feel that marijuana is bad, but they don't know why they feel that way. They only like to do what's safe. Everyone stays in their comfort zone and does what's pleasing to them. Most of the time it's not even pleasing to them. They are just trying to get the approval of someone else. Kids made fun of me for smoking because of what they heard and never thought to try it out for them. I feel that the only way to have an opinion about something is to try it at least once. Now I know that there are some things that I will never try, but I wont go around condemning people who are out there doing it. If you have an opinion about something then that means that you could convince someone else or at least enlighten him or her on the subject. You can't just say smoking bud is bad without a statement why you think that is true.
One day before school I was finishing up my morning blunt, and this ninth grader came up to me and asked me why do I smoke. We had an interesting debate about smoking. Together we listed the pros and cons of smoking. It was a great conversation. I really enjoyed talking to someone who genuinely wanted knowledge on the subject and was not just coming at me like smoking weed is bad umkay.
