After Reviewing

After reviewing “The Detroit News” and London’s “The Independent” I found that there were several differences among the two. In ‘The Detroit News” there were mostly local stories, the stories was mainly in the Detroit region. The stories that was found in ‘The Detroit News” were small stories with hardly any large size pictures, the stories that were large in statue was stories that was negative or violent. There wasn’t any national story in the first section of the paper. The only international story that was in the front page of the paper was talking about the Olympics.
In “The Independent” the stories on the front page was manly national and international stories. The lay out of the paper was much different from “The Detroit News” “The Independent” had two page layouts with large scale pictures. The stories that was in “The Independent was more positive and there was motivational stories. The stories that was negative or violent were stories that was down scale except for the story on “The Dark War”. The story on “The Dark War” was enlarged with detail of what exactly was going on. The purpose of this was not to depress you but to show you how grateful you should be, knowing that you do not have to deal with the thing that the citizens in ‘The Dark War” are dealing with.
In “The Detroit News” there were only three international stories, those stories was about Iraq, Russia and Puerto Rico. The stories only had three of four sentences telling you what the story was about only one of the three stories had pictures. The story about Iraq did not match the headline, what I mean by that is, the headline that was given made you think the story was going to say one thing however the story said something totally different. The story about Russia however brief did match the headlines and was straight to the point although the purpose of this story was pointless.
