Advantages and Disadvantages of a Multi-Racial Society
Advantages and disadvantages of living in a multi-racial society Nowadays 99% of the modern world countries have become a multiracial society, whether it is relative to their language, religion , culture, or traditions . Also universities , schools and other societies have become multiracial, it is not necessary for the whole country . And today with all aspects of economical, social and other types of growth , it is distinguishably linked to the globalization and the immigration of people to other countries, which has become more and more common . But can a multiracial community exist with no problems attached ?

A multiracial society is very rich in culture heritage , where you get the opportunity to learn about other cultures. A multi-racial society is also a multi-linguist society so people living in such societies benefit from the richness of languages and are thus able to speak different languages , there is also a wide variety of traditions, customs and festivals that are being carried out in such countries.
In addition with the fusion of cultures food becomes national, people are able to eat a wider variety of food, learning to prepare them in different ways, even celebrations of festivals become national.
In addition a multi-racial society teaches people how to respect and understand the religion and cultures of others. Therefore this leads to tolerance. Moreover multi nationality makes the country more dynamic because there are people who come from different places and this can help to develop new ideas about how to make our lives better.

In these multi-racial societies very often there are misunderstandings, which lead to conflict . Fanaticism is another factor, which creates conflicts in a multi-racial society. These conflicts and divisions between people is further increased by politicians who practice racial and ethnic politics, only to obtain votes. Fanaticism also encourages people in becoming racist which then leads to intolerance and misunderstandings. Not to mention that sometimes some religions in some societies get stereotyped in an insulting way, which creates clashes between two cultures or more .

To conclude I will say that peace remains very fragile, it can break at any time. So we should not let anyone gamble with it. We should neither allow ourselves to be manipulated by the governments nor the people in power.

Many view the supposed growth of diversity with trepidation because non-European ethnic groups are viewed as inherently more different from European ethnic groups, a belief that is completely founded on the conception of race. However, this belief is not based on fact, as one study found, race is not a scientific or biological concept, rather it is a culturally constructed mechanism created to categorize people. Historically, the sole purpose of race was to restrict non-European races "access to privilege, power, and wealth... " (Smedley & Smedley, 22). The cultural difference between European countries and that of predominately non-white counties are basically equal. We have been able to thrive as an ethnically diverse nation so far and the color of the growing populations skin should make no difference on how stable our nation is. Furthermore, as we grow in diversity, studies have found that we become more accepting as a society. One study found, in more ethnically diverse societies, people tend to trust out-group members more than in less diverse…

I don’t think that many realize the benefits of being so diverse. Personally I love looking around and seeing the women and children form India with there long dresses and there heads covered. They embrace there culture and I think it is such a beautiful thing. At times I wonder what they think is so unique about our culture, and what it is like to be an American. One benefit that I have picked up is speaking another language. I was raised by a…

The perspective on race is changing rapidly right before our eyes. Intermarriages are becoming more popular and very common to see on an everyday basis, but no time soon will this eliminate race as a whole, “Five hundred years from now, unless human societies undergo drastic changes, Asians, Africans, and Europeans will be physically distinguishable.” (Olson p.260) The people of this world will always look different from one another, nothing can change that, but the mixing of these people is doing something much more powerful. Socially, intermarriage has created an idea that you can designate your own race based on the individuals’ personality because with the different races merged together, who is to determine what race you really are.”Joshua Goldstein calculated that about 20 percent of Americans are already in extended families with someone from a different racial group.” (Olson p.252) Many people don’t realize that they are already mixed and have family members of different ethnic background.”The logical endpoint of this perspective is a world in which people are free to choose their ethnicity regardless of their ancestry.” (Olson p.261) People should have the right to pronounce themselves in any ethnicity that is most closely related to how they perceive themselves. The people of Hawaii are moving beyond concepts of race and the rest of the world is soon to follow. “Many prospective students at the University of Hawaii simply mark “mixed” in describing…

Some cultures are very disciplined and encourage and push their children to do well and excel academically, where as other cultures don't put as big of an emphasis on academics. They'd rather their children learn a trade, or take on the family business. Another area of life that could be affected by a multicultural family is beliefs. If different people were asked to define cultural diversity there would be a varying degree of answers provided. One formal definition is: n ethnic, gender, racial, and socioeconomic variety in a situation, institution, or group; the coexistence of different ethnic, gender, racial, and socioeconomic groups within one social unit (Lexicon, ). Another formal definition is: the variety of human societies or cultures in a specific region, or in the world as a whole (Wikipedia, Cultural diversity, 2009). People bring with them very different experiences. When a country like the U.S. embraces equality for all individuals, they are open to be more educated on other individuals ' traditions, religions, etc. The byproduct of acceptance is peace. Most infighting in countries comes from misunderstanding the other 's side. In America, there are no sides. We are all on the same team. It also makes America stronger than countries that are fighting all of the time. For example, America has only been around for two hundred and fifty years or so, yet it is the richest and most advanced country in the world. Other countries that have been around for 6 thousand years or more, still to this day do not have indoor plumbing down. This is a direct result of intolerance. Diversity brings with it better ideas, which translates into a better standard of living. It is kind of like the old saying, “two heads are better than one.”…

The diversity in the world today helps us all to grow as individuals and open our minds to the different ways of life. When a person becomes exposed to the different cultures and ways of life and how others live their life’s we see that all people do live differently in some way or another, then our minds are not closed anymore, yet they are opened to the differences of the world and we can see that each culture has a difference and that difference has a meaning in their lives. Diversity also promotes tolerance in the world. It allows us to accept other cultures and sometimes even adapt to the ways of those cultures and utilize those differences in our own cultures and lives. Although we are all different in some way or another, we all have differences that can strengthen society. Diversity allows us to learn, grow and understand new ways of living. It also allows us the opportunity to experience life to the fullest. If we had no diversity, we would all be in our own little worlds. With diversity we are able to expand our knowledge and learn more and become less ignorant to the different ways of the different cultures in the world.…
