Academic Study, Aims and It’s Achievement
Academic study refers to scholarly study at university level which deepens ones knowledge in a particular field of interest. Presently academic education is given the top priority in ones life. It helps an individual to rediscover his personality, strengths and weakness. It helps to identify ones flaws and skills to overcome them. The major aim of academic study is to impart knowledge and skills professionally and socially in an individual such that he excels in his field of interest thereby helping him to learn more about the theoretical and practical aspects of the concerned subject. Academic knowledge is significant in ones life as one should be aware as how to discuss on various critical and debatable topics in different fields of interest. As ALBERT EINSTEIN quoted that the important thing in life is not to stop questioning as curiosity has it’s own reason for existing. It’s always true that one can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking which is used to create them!!!

The second aim of academic education is to instigate meaningful developmental communication within the masses. It develops ones confidence to talk as it helps in improvement in one’s critical thinking skills thereby increasing the maturity level of thinking.. It also enhances ones ability to think different mainly about debatable issues, the pros and cons. It deepens ones knowledge of the society and makes him intellectual. The individual gets in-depth knowledge about various fields such as engineering, IT, medicine etc. Academic study is an enviable opportunity to learn to know about the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of spirit of one’s own personal joy and to the profit of the community to which one later belongs. The aim must be training of independently acting and thinking individuals who, however, can see in the service to the community their highest life

University education is often thought of as just another step that one has to endure to get a decent career. The purpose of education has drastically changed from the past and it seems as though its purpose now distorts one’s outlook on their future. Students are misguided by the idea that university education is the most important aspect of their process of getting a career, that nothing else matters except for education. Indeed, education is an important aspect of life, but the reason people attend university is not for the benefit of getting a job. This shift in perspective on the purpose of education can be considered unintentional (CB p. 334) since it originates back to the olden ways of how the society functions. Before, only the elites had access to education; now, almost everyone is able to gain an education. The only difference now for people, is the level and quality of education that they can attain. Due to the greater access to education, the younger generation believes that the only way they can be successful, relatively, is through education.…

Goals are like road maps; they get a person from one point to another. Goals provide the direction one needs to reach a destination. The best way to get results is to plan for the future, but live one day at a time. Think about the future; how does one define success? What makes one happy? What drives a person? What makes a person get out of bed in the morning? Does success mean family, money, security, helping others, improving the environment, solving problems, a career, or a degree? Whatever a student decides, the key to academic success is to strengthen one’s will to succeed and to do this one must set academic goals.…

This year I experienced some major life changes that caused me to re-evaluate my life. I finalized a lengthy divorce proceeding; I lost my job, and I moved to San Diego, California. These events may have caused some people to feel hopeless, but they motivated me to make some life changes. I enrolled in the BSBA program with a concentration in accounting at Walden University in order to finish the degree I started 8 years ago. I have learned that goal setting is important in order to achieve success in life. For me to attain the future that I see for myself and my family, I set academic and personal goals. In this essay, I will discuss my academic goals and my personal goals. I will also discuss how these goals connect to my degree program. My academic goals are significant to the achievement of some of my personal goals. One personal goal is to start my own accounting firm for small business owners. Before I can achieve that objective, I need to focus on my academic goals.…

I have many educational goals set for myself and I know that if I continue to execute these plans I will be successful in my life to come. As of now, my educational goals are to graduate from North Iowa Area Community College in the spring of 2018 and then go to a four year college to finish my degree. I am planning on majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in mathematics. Along with this major, I will obtain a minor in coaching. I have a goal to get my coaching minor before I leave NIACC. I hope to graduate from college with a grade point average above a 3.5. I know that this will take a lot of work but I am willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Also, I am a student-athlete and would like to make the all-academic regional team each season. I believe that it is very important to be successful on and off the playing field. I will continue to push myself in the classroom so I can achieve my highest goals.…

I kept my goals short-term, meaning within the next year or so, as I am on track to graduate in August of 2017. My first goal that I listed is to focus my upcoming courses around my future education and career goals. As we learned during Week 3 of this course, depending on the area of psychology one wishes to pursue there may be certain courses or certain skills that may be required. I intend to pursue a Master’s in School Counseling. While looking into the licensure requirements for my state I discovered that coursework is a vital part of obtaining a license (New York State Education Department (NYSED), 2015). I also learned what types of courses are currently set-up for the Master’s degree program in School Counseling here at Walden (Walden University, 2015). I feel that choosing courses that will help build a foundation for future courses is a good idea for me. In addition, I am interesting in trying to find an internship or a research opportunity although it is not a requirement for me to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. While pursuing my Associate’s degree I had the opportunity to do an internship and I feel that it helped me gain some real world experience. Landrum and Davis (2014) agree that internships offer a lot of benefits such as on-the-job experience and internships build confidence, (p. 110) to name a few. Landrum and Davis (2014) further point out that research experience closely related to your program of study is a huge plus on your application to graduate school (p. 94). Another goal I set for myself is to start applying for graduate school. I intend to start researching my options (my first choice, of course, is Walden) about a year in advance get all the information ready after that then about six months before I actually hope to start graduate school start sending out the applications. Lastly, I feel as though my APA citation skills…
